No More Bank OT

From the California Employers Association.
“The Labor Commissioner has made it clear that Labor Code ยงยง 204.3 and 513, and the applicable Wage Order, do not authorize “compensating time off.” Specifically, compensatory time provisions are only applicable under the federal law to state and local government employees; the compensating time provisions under federal law are not applicable to employees of private employers.”

What this means – you can not allow your employees to “bank” over time hours to be taken at a later date.

Also, California Minimum wages is going up for 2017. For employers with 26 or more employees the effective date is January 1, 2017 and the new rate will be $10.50. for Employers with less than 26 the effective date will be July 1, 2017.

Updated Posters should be ordered now for 2017 and will need to be replaced by January 1, 2017. Call me if you need a new one.
